Located in Qiddiya City, southwest of Riyadh, Aquarabia will complement Six Flags Qiddiya City, the city’s flagship theme park and the first Six Flags park to be designed and built outside of North America.

The QIC Board of Directors said, as part of the announcement, that Aquarabia will draw visitors from around the world with its 22 rides and family-friendly water-based experiences.

As a new master-planned destination, Qiddiya City is focusing on integrating sustainability into every element of the development’s planning, construction, and operation phases. Examples include recycled water used in the water theme park’s irrigation and cooling, and thanks to specialized filters, energy consumption will be minimized and water waste will be reduced by up to 90%; while Six Flags Qiddiya City aims to recycle operational waste targeting more than 80% diversion from landfill.

With the entertainment, leisure and sports industry being one of PIF’s 13 strategic sectors for investment, in line with Saudi Vision 2030’s target of creating a more vibrant society where everyone enjoys a rich, fulfilling life, the latest announcement also reflects the Fund’s support of innovation, sustainability and boosting job opportunities. With a projected total of 10,000 direct and indirect jobs created, Aquarabia and Six Flags Qiddiya City will significantly contribute to Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification and GDP targets.
