CasTech International localizes production of key construction chemicals and building materials

Introduction

CasTech International is a group company specialized in construction chemicals and building materials, with subsidiaries well established in Australia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, U.A.E, Egypt and China. CasTech International's product and solution portfolio includes cement grinding aids, concrete admixtures, concrete repair mortars and waterproofing solutions. CasTech International entered into a strategic partnership with PIF to support the localization of PCE (polycarboxylate ether) concrete admixtures.

Private sector partnership

CasTech International explored more than 25 opportunities published on the PIF Private Sector Hub under the construction and building components sector and registered for “Polyether monomer manufacturing”. Following registration, CasTech International was supported by PIF through enhanced visibility of the Saudi market landscape, including the demand-supply gap, key growth drivers and upcoming demand from PIF-led real estate projects. In addition, CasTech International requested PIF support in identifying local suppliers of acrylic acid to help build a resilient local supply chain and substitute imports. PIF connected CasTech International with Tasnee, a key acrylic acid supplier based in Saudi Arabia.

Through this engagement, CasTech International has operationalized a factory in Dammam 3rd Industrial City to localize the production of key construction chemicals and building materials.

Impact and value creation

The partnership between CasTech International and PIF supports local industry capacity building and strengthens supply chain security for PIF portfolio companies. It also fosters the development of a highly skilled local workforce and positions Saudi Arabia as a key regional player in construction chemicals and building materials.
